Congratulations on exercising your Second Amendment Right. Now let's get you started down the road to responsible firearm ownership! At Long Shot our approach to training first-time pistol owners follows a logical progression.
First, we start with principles of personal and home safety. Having a firearm at home brings risk into your life and the life of those you love. Our Beginner Pistol Class teaches you how to handle, operate, maintain, store and transport your firearm.
Second, we continue with principles of law. You may be called to use your firearm one day to defend yourself or others. The Use of Force Law Class teaches you what the NJ statutes expects of you in every situation. If you purchased your firearm to protect yourself from danger, then use this class to protect yourself from the legal fallout afterward.
Third, we teach you the principles of shooting from a holster in our Holster Drawing 1 class. Whether you ultimately plan to take defensive pistol courses or travel to "open carry" states or to shoot in IDPA or USPSA leagues, learn how to use a holster and avoid the most common pitfalls.
Sign up for a special beginners learning bundle of all three classes today and earn a 20% discount ($100). Book your first class now and schedule the next two when you come in.

2. Use of Force: The purpose of this course is to educate the participant on the necessary legal concepts to guide their actions before, during and after using deadly force. The laws governing the Use of Force vary from state to state. The manner in which the laws are written and enforced in the State of New Jersey are some of the most restrictive in all the 50 states and place a heavy legal burden on firearms owners to know all regulations and to act accordingly in all situations where guns are used as deadly force.
This course is for civilian students. (Learn more about this class)
3. Holster Drawing 1: The class will instruct the student how to properly utilize a holster and related equipment for the purpose of practicing stationary target shooting in Long Shot’s indoor ranges. (Learn more about this class). It is a prerequisite for Holster Drawing 2.
